The Who Clothing Limited Edition range by Lambretta Clothing .

One of the best British bands to emerge from the sixties was The Who. For five decades they have been seen as the forerunners of the Mod scene.

Originally called The Detours, the band played semi professional in the London pubs three or four times a week and played a mixture of Soul and R&B.

Pete Meadon was a sharp dressing impresario and had many connections in the music business. He was regarded as the Ace Face and one of the founder Mods. He approached the band and offered to manage them. He changed their hairstyles, clothes and their name to the High Numbers.

Their first record “I’m The Face” failed to register in the charts but the relentless efforts of Meaden cleverly promoting the band the band were being recognised as the coolest Mod band around.

The band decided to change management to progress further and linked up with film directors and entrepreneurs Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp and changed their name to The Who.

The band was heavily influenced by the huge record collection of Guy Stevens who played records on R&B nights at The Scene Club and many of the cover versions The Who released were first heard there.

As we know now the band went from strength to strength and is still touring to this day.

Lambretta Clothing has teamed up with The Who to launch a 60s-inspired Limited Edition clothing range, as well as re-creating items worn by the band and an exact copy of the US army fishtail parka that appeared on the Quadrophenia album cover.

The Tribute Collection covers 16 styles and includes a Fishtail Parka, Jeans, Jumpers, Sweatshirts, Polo Tops and tee shirts featuring graphics relating to The Who.
